Dance with Me

I walked into my closet, needing to grab my rings and necklace before heading downstairs.

“I’m heading downstairs,” I told Sophia.

“Dance with me!” she replied.

I knew it was time to get downstairs to make breakfast and get us out the door. But before saying no, I thought about what the hurry was. Sure, I needed to drop the girls off at the neighbor’s and I needed to get to work. But surely I could spare a minute or two to dance with Sophia.

So we danced blasting ‘All for One’ from High School Musical 2, currently Sophia’s favorite song. And we laughed and enjoyed each other’s silliness prior to starting the day.

Lesson learned…always take a minute to be silly with your kids and take time to do the things they enjoyed. Happy Friday!

  1. So, so precious. My husband and I are so guilty of always being in a rush with our 19 month old, and we have to remind ourselves “SLOW DOWN. Why are we rushing??” It’s such an important reminder. ❤
