Pandemic Birthday #2

Today we celebrated Isabella’s 8th birthday, in the midst of the pandemic, again. Yes, this was her second birthday celebrated pandemic style. But this year was different.

Today we celebrated not only her birthday but hope for the future. Bringing family together and enjoying each other’s company. Hearing cousins squealing with delight and running through the house. Spending time catching up on so many updates in our lives. Grateful to be together.

Isabella had an amazing birthday. Here are just a few highlights…

donut breakfast in bed (my bed, not hers…)

presents from her mom, dad, and sister

family coming together in her honor

pancake brunch

Red Robin dinner

snuggles on the couch while watching a movie

a chapter of our read aloud before bed because mommy can’t say no

lots of love.

I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for Isabella!

Happy birthday Isabella!

  1. Happy Belated, Isabella! I’m glad your daughter had some semblance of a “normal” birthday this year. I know last year had to be a bummer. It’s crazy how the little things like kids running through the house or having a few friends over seem like they haven’t happened for an eternity. Shoot, In a way, it has been when you think about something every day.

  2. Happy birthday to Isabella! How wonderful that you were able to look forward towards the future — her’s and the world’s — on her second pandemic birthday!

BTW: Your Isabella and my Isabelle seem to be equally obsessed with unicorns!
