Sisters Forever

“Mommy, can you come out and see what I drew?” asks Sophia as she races in the door.

With a quick glance at the clock, I respond, “Of course!”

I grab a pair of flip flops (it really wasn’t warm enough for these…yet) and I head out through the garage. The girls each wrote a note to each other saying they loved the other. They drew pictures of each other and captured it all in a heart. And then they hug each other, hence the picture that started this post.

Sometimes, in those fleeting moments, when they are arguing or talking over each other, I need to remember these moments. The ones where they have nothing but love for each other. The moments where they are connected and would do anything for each other. The moments when they are not only sisters, but best friends.

As I sit in the office, I can hear them talking in Sophia’s bedroom. Somehow, they convinced daddy that it was okay to have a sleepover on a school night. But what I love are the giggles I am hearing and the excited voices. The reminders of the amazing sisters they are and the best friends they will be for years to come. Makes this mom’s heart happy!

  1. How precious is this! Although I am close in age to my sisters, we were not very close/kind to each other. I am thankful that we are super close now. What a bond your daughters have. I love it!

  2. My sister is my best friend and always has been. It’s not that we never fought growing up, but we were also always there for each other and always be there. Your girls have such a special gift. I have two boys now and their relationship is a little different but I think they will grow up to be best friends, too. It’s so fun to read about your girls’ relationship, brings back memories of sleepovers in my sister’s room.
