I awoke to someone jumping into my bed. Still half asleep, I was confused at what was happening. I rolled over to find Izzie, awake and ready to celebrate her birthday. I pulled her into bed and wished her a happy birthday. She was so happy!
We snuggled in bed, all four of us for awhile, until the girls became restless and it was time to head downstairs for breakfast. Sophia found a candle and insisted we sing happy birthday and we did! The smile says it all!
Then it was go time…we had a party to get ready for! Among all the health concerns, we decided to go ahead with the party with her friends, taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe. Errands, decorating, organizing…and then it was time!
The doorbell rang and it began. I loved watching Izzie with her friends as they began to arrive. They are so fun! They began running around, which drives me nuts, but once everyone arrived, we began with our art activities!
First up, reading a book about painting and colors for inspiration. Then it was time to paint our canvases. The girls were so creative with their painting. They knew what they wanted in terms of colors and everyone was so kind about complimenting each other’s paintings.
Initial letters were next, and who knew washi tape would be such a big hit?!? The girls took their time, sharing materials, and letting their creativity shine through.
The girls were having so much fun that we needed to extend the party. It was so much fun to watch the girls have fun together and be creative.
We ended the night with our little family, enjoying time together. We played Clue Jr., opened presents, and enjoyed breakfast for dinner.
I am so grateful that we were able to take a break from the worries of COVID-19 to enjoy this little girl celebrate her birthday is priceless. Thank you to everyone who helped to make her day special. We are stocked with arts and crafts and books for the next few weeks. Happy birthday Isabella!
