We Interrupt this Birthday for COVID-19

Tomorrow this girl turns 7. And there have been so many changes to birthday routines this year because of COVID-19.

Izzie turns 7!

No Munchkins with Mom, so we had donuts with mom (and dad and sister) at home.

No visitors into the classroom, so I sent a video to her teacher so I could still read to the class.

School is cancelled for three weeks. We took some extra precautions so her friends could still come over for her birthday tomorrow.

Not wanting to sit at a restaurant tonight, we had family dinner at home.

Family isn’t feeling good and nervous about the virus so we rescheduled her family party.

And through it all, Izzie has just rolled with the punches. She has been completely understanding and never questioned anything. She knows that there is a “kimono virus” and we need to be safe.

Let this forever be the birthday interrupted by COVID-19.

  1. You are rocking it with alternate plans. This birthday will be the one your daughter remembers forever. You’re teaching her flexibility and resilience, both will benefit her far more than any planned party could. Happy birthday to her!
