It always amazes me when I watch my girls and see how imaginative they can be when playing. The things they say and do can be so fun to watch.

So when I was unpacking boxes of books for an upcoming event, I tossed the boxes and packing paper to the side. I planned on breaking down the boxes and recycling the paper. Izzie came home from school and the rush of lunch came upon us and my mess was forgotten.

Fast forward to later that afternoon. I was working and the girls saw the boxes and paper and decided they were going to use them. I didn’t think anything of it until I looked up and watched them. They had grabbed scissors and tape and were carefully designing masks and boats and fire trucks. They had gone upstairs to get even more boxes we had stored as well as empty wrapping paper rolls. Everyone knows they make the best swords.

  1. Thank you for sharing this slice of your life today. It made me realize how much I miss those days of my kid’s young imaginations. My kids are both grown. You’ve developed the love of play and imagination in them. Great job Mom!
