It is a Sunday night. I am tired and anxious for the week ahead. Just another Sunday! I am ready to head upstairs to read before bed when I realize it is March 1st.
I quickly turn to my husband, saying, “Oh no!” He panics as he thinks something is really wrong. Nope, I just forgot to put together the strips for our countdown to Disney and it has to be done tonight.
So, I find the strips, grab the tape, and get to work. It didn’t take as long as I thought, but it was really long! With Jim’s help, I get it hung and can’t wait for morning when the girls will see it.
Izzie was the first to notice, asking what was hanging over the fireplace. I wouldn’t tell her until her sister stopped her morning fit. Eventually, I was able to explain that this was our Countdown to Disney chain and that each day, we would take down one strip. They were excited, but had so many questions! What happens if we can’t reach the strip? Who goes first? What does it mean?
I showed them the first strip and how we would take it down each day. Here is to 128 days till Disney!

Fun! We have done a few Disney cruises. Going to have to think about the chain countdown if we plan another one in the future!
