I Just Can’t Put this Book Down

Have you ever been reading a book that you just couldn’t put down? This was me as a kid. I always had a book in hand and I loved reading before bed. And I often fell asleep with that book in hand. Reading was something I loved doing any time that I could! I still love reading before bed and often find myself ready to nod off before I finish the chapter.

And now I share this love of reading with my daughters. They always have a book, especially at night in bed. They have more books than I can count in their beds! Each night before I head to bed, I check in on the girls. More often than not, I find them holding a book while sleeping. There is nothing better to me than seeing them with the books in hand, even as they sleep.

Always with a book!

Reading before bed is one of my favorite ways to unwind and I am glad that my girls enjoy it as well. Good night and happy reading!

  1. So great that you have passed your love of reading down to your daughters. What a cute photo!
(And yes, I have read many a book I couldn’t put down. When my kids were younger, they sometimes had to remind me to cook dinner because I had forgotten, lost in a book.)

  2. What a sweet picture! It reminds me of my now grown children and how they used to love to read before bed! They are now raising book lovers and when our grandbabies stay over night, reading stories before bed is a must!

  3. Love the photo. I agree that reading is a great way to wind down the day – unless it is a really good book that I cannot put down because then I stay up way too late!

  4. Love the pic of those books in bed with your daughters! That must make you very happy. I wrote about picture books and my grandson today. It’s so fun to pass on a love of reading.

  5. This is a sweet reading celebration! The photo is adorable. Reading is something that bonds a family. I love the book talks I have with my mom, and whenever my adult daughters come home we talk about books too.
